I just checked the setlist at Hershey - he's still pulling out songs for tour-premier! So - if you go to a show, give me some feedback. I am hoping for an other tour next year - as rumours says.....

I first saw him in 1977 and was converted on the spot. His early shows were amazing. I've seen him pretty much every tour since and to me, he gets better every time! His music takes on added meaning and every time I hear it, it's like the first time. It begins and ends with Bruce.

Yeah, it was really good. About 10,000 people. Clarence came out in a Santa outfit when they did the Santa Claus tune. I do have to say that the show of theirs I saw first (a year or two before), at the Berkeley Community Theatre, was better. Only 3,000 in attendance. Amazing stuff these guys played. Anyway, shame you lost the last few seconds on this clip. Wish YouTube gave a bit more storage for clips.

I really do not know if it was luck or divine intervention, I qualify that by saying that when I was in high school I was pushed off the road and totaled my parent's car. I was listening to the album (cassette) version of Thunder Road, the car was totaled but the song never skipped a beat. I treasure this version. This is such a dark and desperate version more akin to protest than to hope, which is what he ultimately decided on. Has he ever performed this version live? I wrecked my car on the Jersey Turnpike while listening to this version of this song, my car was crushed head on by a freight truck, I survived but my car did not. My cd is still scratched up and does not play-but I walked away without a scratch! That song, that accident,on that day, changed my life forever...

Yes! he is unsurpassed, it is great to share comments with TRUE Bruce fans like yourself, i am 45 and have been into Bruce for 32 of those yesrs, he has pulled me through some really dark times and has helped me celebrate some really great times, i listen to him daily! Oh GOD that was fuckin' AWESOME! I have 2 versions from '76, but never heard the line about "can't tell the dead from the living" before! My favorite line is "she was looking somewhere to go to die or be redeemed", that's exactly how I feel. That said, I think the LP version is easily his finest studio moment, the one song he never bettered live.
