It would've been much more expensive and time-consuming to have to get the actors, workers, etc. back to do acted cutscenes. Since it's an expansion pack for an existing game, Lucasarts (or any developer, for that matter) is going to put the same amount of money and attention into making it. And remember, since it was an expansion pack, it only cost like $20, which was another thing that limited how much money they'd be willing to spend on making it.

CRAP! The BluRay Disc assoc. was founded in 2002 by Sony, Phillips etc, and the tech was first commercially available in April 03. SOTE was a multimedia project rolled out in 1996/7. Whether the original CGI of the PC game was rendered in 1080p(which is highly unlikely) the codecs didnt exist to compress it onto a CD >> DVD tech was in its infancy at this stage and in itself would not have the capacity to output streams of 1080p video as the h264 codec spec would not exist for another 6 years!!

u know they never rly explained what would happen if he ruled the galaxy. it seems the dilemma in star wars was the dark side vs the light side but that it was only hatred between them and not third parties that had nothing to do with the Force. If anything, wouldnt this had united the empire in peace even though it wouldve obliterated the Jedi? All the nations consented to Palpatine becoming the emperor. BTW, Anakin sounds like a little crying bitch without the Vader voice.

and as we all know, a sibling relationship can consist mostly of sibling rivalry (jealousy between Obi Wan or Anakin). Had Qui Gon lived, i believe there would still be a Darth Vader, and i still belive he and Obi Wan would have had a duel on Mustafar, but their intentions and thoughts would have been much different. For example, Obi Wan, knowing Qui Gon was wrong all along about Anakin, would fight for what he stands, but would also want to kill off his 'rival'.

well, at the end of episode 1 Obi Wan did take Anakin in for training, despite Qui Gon's beliefs that Anakin was the chosen one (my understanding was that Obi Wan did not believe this to be true). So if Qui Gon had not died, he would have simply taken in a second apprentice, so Obi Wan and Anakin would not have had that Master-Student relationship theyve developed with each other, as weve grown to see in the new saga. instead, Anakin and Obi Wan would have more of a sibling relationship.

i just thought of something else. Had Vader won, Obi Wan would not have rescued Padme from Mustafar, which later leads to her death and splitting the twins from birth. So with Obi Wan Dead, Padme's birthgiving would have been completely different, im not sure whether she would have died or not, but the children may not have been given names at birth, and would be under Vader's rule. what would become of the children is beyond me.

I remember that this cut scene came up if you were the rebels and the Empire showed up over your planet. While your fleet battled the Imperial fleet, you had the option of sending a squadron of fighters against the Death Star to attempt to blow it up. It actually was kind of hard to do, especially if the Empire had a lot of fighters. And I think that the Death Star could carry some insane number of squadrons of TIE. The Empire got to send a squadron to intercept yours to stop your attack.

I read Rebellion got very mixed reviews. There are other areas that fans felt could be improved, like controlling the units during a ground invasion and ship battles being won be more then just brute force. Or at least that's what I read on wikipedia.

Yep, that'd be a good way :) I'd add one thing more: it would make enemy super-aggressive against you when you try to build it (not sure if a Wonder does the same in AoE, haven't played it). And when finished, the enemy tries to avoid it at all costs. Heh, I did those things in Forces of Corruption :D it's fun to play as Empire now!

Nah. DSII would only be able to be built after DSI was destroyed. It would also cost a lot more resources and time to build than DSI. So in that way, it'd sort of be like a carrier, a superweapon, and a Wonder like in Age of Empires all in one: really expensive and slow to build, but when it's done, the enemy loses. At least, that's how I'd do it if I designed the game :)

Well, there goes all those resources you spent on the Death Star. It's too bad you can't make a Death Star II in the game, one without the flaws of the Death Star I, so if you completed it it would be an unstoppable superweapon.
