You can tell by the way the handle is shaped on the button side, at the front of the knife. If that end of the handle is STRAIGHT, it has a different type of release. It needs to be CURVED to allow the bolster to pivot. I hope that makes sense.

i my opinion i prefer the switch blade because it takes less amtenance i ave a smartknife assisted opening knife and a kershaw and the springs og both of them became loose and you could hear it rattling around and eventually fell off and i had to take the knife apart and the smartknife was ruined in the process but the kershaw was ok with my stiletto i just have to oil it

Thats a good vid, very informative, I agree with you, I would prefer the wood baton, mainly due to cost. Over here, a 16 inch ASP cost about $80, recently I bought a wooden 20 inch baton one for $2.50 at an army surplus store. I just have a few questions, how do you stop them from warping? Those nunchucks bring back some fond memories of a friend from highschool. Despite items like nunchucks and throwing stars being illegal here, he carried them frequently in his backpack. If you're just going to carry matches in the handle, you might as well water-proof them with wax, then you shouldn't need to worry about an accidental fire at all, and you could get the matches wet without any problems. Personally, though, I'd try to carry a piece of flint or a magnesium striker in the handle; it'd be longer lasting than matches and a bit more reliable. Anyway, nice knife and a good review.
