It is so much stronger than the normal pounce attack and is especially useful when they are blinded by the boomer. A couple swipes is easily enough to incapacitate survivors who have only 50% health. Yeah, it happens sometimes. You can even get a versus server when trying to find a campaign server, resulting in Death Toll or Dead Air versus (with only four players).

it wasnt a local server. the server name was mmg? cant remember exactly. but yea there were no "visible" infected ladders. i think thats cuz it wasnt meant to be a versus map.
