Epiphones are great values. The solid bodies are obviously not as good as Gibsons, but the original Epis like the Casino easily equal Gibson's quality, especially the Elitist models.

Oh for fuck's sake... Let's see Gibson make a guitar that can tune itself and DOESN'T sell for four fucking grand, retard. For one, Epiphone is a subsidiary of Gibson and you talk as though they're in competition. Second, Epiphone is not aimed at making top-of-the-line shit to begin with. If you must know, though, my Epiphone Gothic V is damn near as good as my actual Gibson Flying V is and cost me nowhere near as much... Good talk though, kiddo. Really. Way to fight the good fight.

The Epiphone Slash model is in many ways better than the Gibson counterpart. The Epi uses a long neck tennion for one thing. And the sad truth is, Gibson's just aren't worth the money anymore. Slash's best LP's aren't made by Gibson. Pickup an older Greco or Tokai LP copy. They made them right. I just saw a LP 1959 reissue with stain on the neck binding. I expect a little more for $2000.
