It sounded good back when I took this video in June.. now it sounds.. like shit. On OD1, the sound is way too shrill and adding an Equalizer makes it all muddy, and OD2 is way too bassy and it's untameable with an equalizer... The FX themselves are alright.

Yeah it does, but at higher volumes you can run the gain lower, and the natural distortion keeps everything tight, so string noise isn't that bad.

In this video, it was an Epiphone Les Paul into a Digitech GNX3000, and I was using the overdrive pedals on that to tighten up the gain, and for a little bit of pre-distortion EQ. And, in the FX loop, I have a dual 15 band EQ, and I was boosting the mids by 24db or so.

yes those amps sound even better with a equalizer i use a mxr 10 band graphic eq with my marshall avt 150 through the effects loop for more output volume and fatter mid type of scoop range.
