I'm sorry...yes, Desilu was Desi and Lucy's production company, which I believe was formerly a lot owned by RKO or Monogram or one of those studios, adjacent to the Paramount movie lot. Gulf+Western bought out Desilu in 1967, tore down the wall between the two studios, and renamed Desilu as Paramount Television.

It was just now that I found out that Mark VII Limited was Jack Webb's production company, and that those were his hands pounding the "VII" into place. I never saw Viacom V of doom, Pinball, V of steel or the new Viacom which says "A paramount company." ?That really makes no sense so did Viacom buy Paramount or did Paramount buy Viacom? I think the first one was used at the end of the early Father Knows Best eps. The second one with the first torch lady is from the Three Stooges when they came to televsion in the late 50's. The reason the Program Exchange logo was changed was because the company is no longer owned by Saatchi & Saatchi North America. The Program Exchange is now owned by ZenithOptimedia. The new logo was created to reflect this new ownership.

This was the best; the earlier b&w end-theme was too lethargic (and predating the 's from hell' logo), and the subsequent ones too short at 30 seconds. But this single-season's theme with all those shimmering bells and kick-ass drumming couldn't be beat. Of course, we really heard it less often than we fondly remember - the ABC announcer was almost always running his g.d. mouth over it.

So this variant of the closing song started. When first saw this season in sydication on WGN was only on one episode. It was used as the opening too. This was in 1980 and when the show was on WPWR in 1986 0r 1987 It was on all of the episodes for this season. I do not know why Columbia had it that way though. I saw when WGN had it back in 1989 it was on all of the eps for s 3.
