Well, it looks like this video will definitely come in handy soon. I just purchased a Hammond CV myself. It'll be a couple of weeks or so before I'll have it home, but I'm looking forward to it. It came with a PR-40 tone cabinet. Sadly, no bench so I'll have to find a matching bench or have one made by Valhalla.

Well I am happy it blew up. Because I discovered it didnt blow up in the end. It needs a new $50 start switch. I cam accross a guy that will GIVE ME HIS RT3 for my CV!!!! I AM SOOOO HAPPY!!!!! He is trading because he has absolutly no way it can fit in his house. I want it cause it has percussion, vibrato controll and 32 pedals!

Yes the noise went away after a while. I oiled it about 2 months ago.
By: nurseeroc. on 31 Mar 08, 03:06:35
Geez, I'm sorry! When you said you had to press the start switch over and over, did the noise eventually go away before? I'm really sorry that the motor blew... I was also curious when was the last time it was oiled?
By: Brandotuomikoski. on 30 Mar 08, 14:41:45
Ugh! Found out the Motor blew up on it. Oh well :(

(2) I actually over-oiled the CV because it hadn't been oiled in a very long time. I guess I got too generous! However, if you over-oil, you will have that noise also. If you HAVEN'T oiled your CV, I would go ahead and use the hair dryer on the entire length of the funnels also, and the oil will flow better. My CV's funnels were also gummed up and the oil needed that heat to emulsify and flow. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! Let me know what happens,...

(1) On the CV, when you take off the back panel, if you look on the lower half, you'll see a long metal box, (it's got a lot of little dark looking protrusions, or knobs there, and if you look really really deep, you'll see felt running all across the top metal box). Also at the far left of this box, you'll see the scanner (kind of reminds me of an alternator on a car?) , then the rod coming out of there that spins when you have the organ on. Use the hairdryer on ALL of this. Did you oil it?

Do you have the Reverb on the Dr20? I have a CV and it broke today about 5 minutes ago and I want to fix it. You used a hair dryer to make the tone generator quieter. I am no hammond nut and I dont know what is the tone generator (what box is it?) When I press the start switch, it used to make a god aweful sound, and I had to keep pressing it to get the right sound. Is this solved by the hair dryer. where do i place the hair dryer at? Thanks!

Too true. I have heard that also, just have never had the luck so far! Lol. Yeah, there was a B3 and a Leslie donated to my church, HELLO!!!! So yeah I know it's possible. Wish it would happen!
By: fstanley35. on 21 Mar 08, 06:40:54
Though you joke about "...com[ing] across one laying in the street somewhere," I have heard NUMEROUS stories about churches, older people, and those who just don't know what they have actually giving the Leslies away. Keep your eyes/ears open. I, too, am a CV owner. Take care!!
By: nurseeroc. on 08 Mar 08, 20:03:50
Hey thanks man. The Leslie is a definite, just probably like a year from now unless I come across one laying in the street somewhere! Lol. Thanks man, see ya.

Awesome video! I think this will prove to be helpful to many folks all over the internet. You should definitely invest in a Leslie at some point.
