Unlike analog tape when MiniDV has a problem, it freezes the plast frams seen. So if the tape is defective or otherwise can't be read - that is what you get. Same thing with AVCHD. Australia uses PAL, so thats one advantage over us in NTSC-land - PAL has higher resolution and fewer frames per second = less blur.

It was a bug. The way that the color camera refracts the light when its up close. This happens alot around here, I have seen tons of the same thing and been there at the time it happened. Why someone didn't go out and actually LOOK at the camera baffles me.
