all right you two asswipes. american and british speed cams are different so if the mythbusters one went off but the topgear one didnt thats why. its not a case of whos right or whos wrong, its a case of different models of cameras

Yes, they do. In Ontario, there's camera on top of the traffic lights at major intersections.

Yep. Probably the radar did detect it but it was close enough to the error margins for it to reject it as either a anomaly or perhaps a bird. Thus, it never flashed. Mind you, this is some years ago as well. They have better stuff to catch us today.

To tie up a highly trained copper on speed enforcement is not a very sound investment of time, money or resources. How many traffic cops would be needed to replace ever static speed camera in terms of the quantity of speeders on the road? A traffic officer takes approx 15 minutes to process a speeder -how many offenders go past unchecked? Not to mention that mobile enforcers can record 100 in an hour easily. Speed cameras every time because they record every offender.

Speed Cameras = increase in erratic driver behaviour Traffic Cop on bike = "Sorry officer" and a chance that the person will learn from their mistake Ofcourse you could always end up hitting a pedestrian - the guilt from that alone will cure your speeding.

they're not saying the car is faster than the flash, they're saying the car is going too fast for the radar to detect it. the radar has to detect it for the camera to flash.

but still thats like saying a TVR is faster than the speed of light. how can it go faster than a camera flash? maybe our speed cameras are faster than theirs because on the news some guy had a tuned GT-R going over 200 mph during a street race and was only caught because of the speed camera
